Mr. Marcus Robinson is the Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer of Tindley Accelerated Schools in Indianapolis.

Mr. Robinson’s professional experiences have made him uniquely qualified to lead this particular educational program.  He spent several years in college admissions, first assisting, then leading campus-wide efforts to diversify two selective, liberal arts colleges in the Midwest.  Realizing that he was often meeting students too late to help them prepare and get accepted to college, Mr. Robinson returned to the classroom as a teacher at the middle and high school levels in both public and private institutions.  Marcus has written curriculum, piloted innovative instructional programs, and worked diligently to improve the academic progress of students. In 2004, he launched the Charles A. Tindley Accelerated School.  Under his leadership, Tindley Accelerated Schools have received both local and national awards for consistently producing high academic outcomes in a low-income setting.

In addition to his work at Tindley, Mr. Robinson is a consultant on issues concerning school reform, school culture, and school administration.

Mr. Robinson is a native of St. Louis, Missouri, and he holds a Bachelor’s Degree from DePauw University, a Masters Degree from Butler University, and a Master’s Degree from Columbia University.  He is a member of the Urban Education Leaders Program at Teacher’s College, Columbia University (New York) where he is a doctoral candidate.  He is a fellow of the Aspen Institute’s Pahara Education Fellowship, and he was selected from a group of national charter school leaders to participate in the inaugural Charter Network Accelerator in New York City.
